Today my daughter-in-law and her mother gave a shower for Emily's brother, wife and new baby due to arrive in Feb. This is their second baby with the first being a boy...might I add...a precious boy in fact; that will soon be welcoming his sister. The shower was great...my DIL went above and beyond as she usually does...plus her mom decided to decorate their Christmas tree in ALL pink this year in honor of the new baby and to go along with the shower theme...PINK!! It was so cool...I wish I had remembered my camera...the tree even had pink lights...with pink boa's as garland...way cool...way girly...and way pink!! I was excited to see and feel all the precious things she received for her and the baby...there was not one BLUE outfit in the whole bunch.
I finally got up off my "lazy" and made something for the baby. I usually make these little burp pads...but for some reason lately I haven't even been motivated to do that...but I MADE myself...at the 12Th hour go to my sewing cave and produce something for this precious child to be. I might say...this is one of my favorites AND easiest ones I've ever done...I wish I had been taking pictures of all the others...some I have added ruffles (those are for girls of course) to be trimmed with a large rick-rack or sweet ribbon...and usually personalized. I usually do the boys a little simpler and of course more "boyish" and personalized. Last night I decided to make this one a little simpler than normal b/c I know the mom is a more practical gal...I am pretty pleased with the results...it just looks so sweet and romantic. I also couldn't resist the sweet ballet slippers...either...I think they were both a hit...plus I threw in a couple of things off her registry...again...the colors were mainly pink with some sage...I love baby things!! So sweet!
Sorry for the blurriness...it was late...bad lighting...not to mention tired photographer!

How sweet that is! I love anything pink and none of it looks at all blurry. You did a great job. I wonder where you get pink Christmas tree lites. LOL Do you think my hubby would notice if I put up pink lites? I would love it. Have a great week!
Hi there!
Remember me? Yep, I'm the one who hasn't been by for a visit in over a week. Sorry. It's been wild and crazy around my house, plus I've been out of town, but I'm home now and sooooo ready to catch up on my blog reading. I've sure enjoyed visiting here tonight. Finally!
I went back and read all your posts I've missed and it's been fun seeing what you've been up to.
Hugs!

The burp cloth is adorable and I LOVE the ballet slippers...I wonder if I can get those in Makayla's size:) I'm so sorry to hear about all the doggy drama, has there been any progress on the sleep over?
I can imagine it. The little thing (burp pad? Who in their right mind would let a baby spit up on that lovely thing?) you made is a new one on me...course my boys were projectile "burpers" so it wouldn't have mattered!
Adorable! I love that!
How sweet everything thing is! I just love little baby things...
You made a sweet little treasure there! But oh no baby should ever burp on that precious gift!! : )
And all in pinks. Grace would be delighted!
The slippers are too cute!!
Hugs,
Sue

That is adorable. I'd really like to know how you made it. Was it a diaper?
Happy Holidays, DebraK
